Job description

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to join our Design & Development Engineering team in Pune. Within this role you will be responsible for the design/Development solutions for engine and engine components. Working with the team you will develop specialist knowledge in design, development, interpret/validate the test specifications of engine components and / or sub systems such as Cranktrain, Crankshaft, Connecting Rod, Flywheel and Piston.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG specialises in large diesel engines and propulsion systems and distributed power generation plants. Under the MTU brand we develop and produce drives and power systems for marine applications, for heavy land, rail and defence vehicles, and for the oil and gas industry. In the traditional spirit of pioneers and inventors such as our founders, Wilhelm and Karl Maybach, and Rolls and Royce, we work to develop solutions that are fit for the future. Key Accountabilities
Provide component design solutions at pace, which meet customer, design and regulatory requirements whilst managing the balance of key product attributes of cost, performance and delivery.
Design, modelling and analyze, mechanical and functional systems and components.
Designing sheet metal , piping, cast iron and machined parts and handle complex assemblies.
Produce manufacturing drawings defining the requirements of your solution to enable our product definition group.
Implement, initiate and solve Engineering Change Request.
Handle technical changes and new releases in PLM and ERP systems (Wind-chill and SAP or similar, others).
Produce detailed Design Definition reports, which accurately describe your requirements, your design concepts, how the final concept was selected, requirements, risks and how the design will be verified and validated.
Create bill of materials with SAP R3.Create the documentation of work process, calculations (if any)
Qualifications
Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 4-6 years of experience.
Should have good understanding of mechanical engineering/Manufacturing process fundamentals
Experience in working with project management and PLM tools.
Knowledge of modern 3D- CAD-systems, preferably Pro Engineer/CREO.
Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP R3. R2 would be beneficial.
Knowledge of EDM/PLM systems, preferably Windchill.
Experienced in complete design cycle of Crank train components.
Experienced to interpret/validate the test specifications/ Results for different diesel engine components
Practical / field experience would be advantageous.
Ability to work with cross functional teams.
Good communication and problem solving skills,Solution oriented.
